I am a lyrical-romantic painter whose paintings focus on the science and romance of stars and their organic connection to us on Earth. Before my paintings begin, I spend long periods reading, thinking, observing and sketching - working to translate the images of my mind into physical art. Mixing some of the oldest elements (sand, salt, wood, and granulating watercolors) with some of the newest elements (acrylics, inks, mediums, and gels) results in a constantly fascinating, evolving process.
I am never bored!

News from Darlene
I am excited to be taking a class, sponsored by the Northwest Watercolor Society, by nationally-known artist Don Andrews Don will focus on landscape painting which will enhance my focus on water landscapes at night and "skyscapes" - what happens in the Cosmos as we sleep. Some 25 years ago, in Texas, I took a great class from Don Andrews. I'm looking forward to learning from him again!
